Enjoy your summer everyone! Whatever you do, always make sure you increase your knowledge of life by taking a different path than you normally would. You do not have to travel far from home to find adventure. This will be the last post for awhile as I am setting off for Bar Harbor, Maine on my bike...camping along the way. Feel free to post about your travels as well. Take care everyone...

Congratulations to VANESA Q. for receiving a 98% overall grade this year - the highest in the 7th grade! GAGE B., HANNAH W., SARAH G., and SAM W. were up there also in the top 5. HANNAH W. was the only person to get a perfect 100% on both parts of the final. In addition to HANNAH, SPENCER W., CORINNE N., and JOSEPH M. were the only 4 to get a perfect score on the in-class portion of the final. Nice job everyone.

Tomorrow is the big day...the second 1/2 of this year's science final. Good luck to everyone! I should have your final averages for the year by Monday or Tuesday if I am on my game. Feel free to stop by and see how you did. I enjoyed working with all of you this year and I wish you all the best in the future. Please stay safe this summer.

We've been discussing evolution in class and I thought I would point out a few resources for those of you that find this as interesting as I do: the story of mankind, where we came from, the earth as our cradle and nursery for our species, and how an understanding of evolution can help avoid future problems in medicine and agriculture. To not find this interesting, is hard to imagine. Curiosity and desire to understand are central themes in what it means to be human. This website is one of the best I've found on the subject and you can even watch video clips if you have a fast computer and Realplayer or Quicktime. Another good website is this one.

Today we started part one of our final exams - the lab part. We tested the toxicity of some household items on plant seeds. The goal was to witness firsthand what concentration of poolwater, road salt, febreeze, etc. can pollute the environment. Our seeds will grow for six days before we check on them for results. It should be interesting. Above, SARAH, DANIELLE, and ALLISON pose for a picture. Below, SAM, SPENCER, DYLAN, JOHN, AARON, AND NICK do the same.

We are coming into the homestretch! With only a handful of classes left until final exams, summer is on everyone's mind. Remember though, NOW is when it matters most. Your finals count like A 5TH MARKING PERIOD, so they are very important in terms of your overall average. For some people, doing well on an exam means the difference between passing and failing a class. Make sure you all do your best these next couple of weeks. I have seen SO many improvements in a lot of you this year. Lets finish strong...there are only 10 meters 'till the finish line!
