Just got home from the Ivory-Billed Woodpecker presentation, which was awesome by the way. Glad to see that DEANNA D. and ZACH B. could make it out. Tim Gallagher from Cornell Lab of Ornithology did a great job with the background info on the history and reported sightings over the years. At the end he highlighted the evidence he gathered while in Arkansas trying to find proof of their existance. Those interested can check out this website for more information, including several videos. Your computer needs Quicktime though in order to view the video.

Mr. DeVoe, My mom lives in SW Missour (about 8 miles n of Arkansas) and while she was taking an ornithology course in college she thinks she saw an Ivory Billed Woodpecker. That has to be about 1980-1985 or so. Jeanne P, Groton BOE
Wow, thats great Jeanne! My guess is that a bunch of people have seen one, they just didn't know the significance
