Welcome to the classroom blog of Mr. DeVoe - Here you will find photos, videos, class downloads, and other means to celebrate the community of Groton, biology, and environmental science.
24 June 2008
We started the year composting in the middle/high school building but in January the elementary school jumped on board. For school year 2007-2008 Groton Central School has composted nearly 7,500 pounds of cafeteria scraps. The composting process take place behind the school, thus further saving energy by eliminating the need to transport it off site. Thanks to everyone involved in making Groton a model school for environmental stewardship.

Hey, Mr. Devoe! My grandmother and I would like the web address of Mr. Filzen's website so we can watch my "Beatrix Potter" video. Do you know it?
Wow!! I can't believe you haven't been taking care of your blog! Oh, wait a minute! It's summer! You're probably out on some camping trip or other and have no access to a computer, right? Or, maybe you just don't want to spoil your "nature" time. Whatever the reason, I'm sure it's good enough for neglecting your blog for more than a month!!! Anyway, hope you're enjoying your summer vacation!
You can try accessing it through Mr. Filzen's Moodle at:http://moodle.tstboces.org/groton/course/view.php?id=9 Icouldn't get it to work but you may have better luck with your computer. Hope your summer is going well.
It worked!! Thank you so much for everything that you've done for me this year. I'd forgotten how well the movie turned out, thanks to your great musical intro. Can't wait to see you in the fall. Good luck with the new seventh graders! I'll be sure to keep visiting the blog. ~Me P.S.-I'm glad you liked the story.
