Here is a picture of the male Satin Bowerbird of tropical Australia that we talked a little about today. This particular fella looks like he did a good job decorating his front yard. I'm sure all the girls dig him.

That bird is very beautiful! When you first started to talk about it in class, I thought "Wow,I just saw that bird on ANIMAL PLANET last night. It was weird.

I'd say about 5-6 times a week...depending on what we're doing/talking about in class.

By "real" I assume you mean "Human". In a way it does work like this though. In female sexual selection of humans, what are the qualities that most females desire? I'm thinking success, hard work, and a sense of humor. This male Satin Bowerbird is working hard to create a successful nesting area. You work hard in school so you can one day be successful...and I guess you have a pretty good sense of humor too = )
